With a band that is now being compared to U2 (wow have they come a long way) There is no shortage of Coldplay-oriented sites and pages. I still however had yet to find a site revealing digital availability across several sites. Until now, when my comrades and I designed this site specifically for that chief purpose.

Coldplay Background

• Brit-rock quartet: Chris Martin (vocals/piano), Jon Buckland (guitar), Will Champion (drums), and Guy Berryman (bass)
• met at the University College Of London while acoustic jamming for fun
• all came from middle-class backgrounds and were encouraged by their parents to play music
• Martin has been playing the piano since age 5
• Buckland has been playingplaying guitar by age 11
• Buckland's influences are rooted in the heavy guitar music of Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix
• Berryman, from Scotland, was into funk before he wound up as a bass player for Coldplay
• champion, a master of many instruments, preferred playing guitar, bass and the tin whistle, but ended up playing drums for Coldplay
• They played their first gig at a festival for unsigned bands in Manchester in 1997
• Released five EP's: The Safety, The Brothers and Sisters, The Blue Room, Shiver and Yellow.
• Landed a U.K. deal with Parlophone in April 1999. This was just before the limited-edition five-track The Blue Room EP was released
• Their first full-length debut, Parachutes, was released in the U.K. during the summer of 2000. A U.S. release of that title followed on Nettwerk records in November 2000. "Yellow" was the first single.
• Parachutes earned Coldplay a Mercury Music Prize nomination in 2000, and three Brit Award nominations in 2001
• 2001 saw Coldplay's first U.S. tour. They played ten sold-out dates, however the rest of the U.S. tour and a European tour were cancelled due to voice exhaustion and a series of colds on the part of Martin.
• Rumors of a break-up then emerged; these were put to rest when the group resumed touring
• A Rush of Blood to the Head was released in August 2002.
• Due to the monumental success worldwide with Head The CD/DVD package Live 2003 was issued in fall of that year - showcasing a performance at in Sydney, Australia's Horden Pavilion.
• Martin, whose celebrity status accelerated after Head's success, married actress Gwyneth Paltrow in December 2003. Paltrow gave birth to the couple's first daughter, Apple Blythe Alison Martin, the following April
• X&Y was released in the spring of 2005, debuting at #1 in the U.S. with over 712,000 copies sold in its first week. x&Y was preceeded with its first single "Speed Of Sound".
• Coldplay was one of the many acts that performed 9-10-05 in "ReAct Now: Music and Relief" Concert - a benefit event to Hurricane Katrina victims.
• They are one of 21 acts featured on Help: A Day In The Life. Coldplay went into the studio in New York to record a new version of their song "How You See The World", previously only available in Japan. Martin re-wrote the lyrics especially for War Child. Proceeds from the album will go towards helping children around the world whose lives have been blighted by war.
• Did You know? Chris Martin hates hearing his music (Coldplay) around the house. His wife and daughter have to sneak and listen to it in the car!
