Fijacion Oral Shakira - This album, definitely Latin-pop oriented, is far from the traditional sounding Latin-pop collection - and that's a good thing.
In fact, it is an excellent thing in this album's case. Yet the album sounds like it was clearly targeted - i.e., production/ engineering wise - to Latin-pop music fans.
The result is a Latin-flavored masterpiece full of ear-candy that protrays a multitude of Shakira's traits without losing her identity.

A track-by-track synopsis of Fijacion Oral Shakira
En Tus Pupilas - dreamy, somewhat progressive chorus, great sensual song without getting too voluptuous. Sounds like a laid-back, sensual, Latin version of Avril Lavigne.
La Pared - adult-new wavy with a "light" rock touch.
La Tortura - catchiest track on the album goes into more of a pace that younger ears can identify with. Has a reggaetón beat identified with many Latin hip-hop records, except this track has a Mexican bluesy feel - not identified with Latin hip-hop.
Obtener Un Si - starts out like a "typical" broadway with a Mexican flavor, but quickly turns edgy. Has an NYC AC style jazz - but sounds more up-to-date with a compressed-sounding horn ensamble. Background is quite sensual and dreamy.
Dia Especial (Artista Invitado Gustavo Cerati) - light alt-rock. More light than what non-Latin listeners would appreciate. That said, the melody holds the song quite well. Maybe Avril Lavigne should produce a remake. A synth solo is found midway.
Escondite Ingles - The most rocky track. Has a fast n freaky verse, some romantic parts (the bridge), more rocky chorus.
No (Artista Invitado Gustavo Cerati) - the Cd's best track, though not by a milestone, due to other outstanding tracks. This is an emotional-grabbing, progressive, esp the last minute, captivating melody; quite acoustic - ends optimistic. Absolutely magnificant.
Las de la Intuición - new wavy/ AC dance beat - sounds more like a tropical Erasure meets Celine Dion.
Dia de Enero - tracks 9 + 10 sound more "filler", at least compared with other tracks on the album. However, they still sound great, each with their own unique identity. Track 9 is mid-tempo ballad - a bit more happier sounding and less adventurous than other tracks on the album. A bit of nice <3:00 break actually, although I wouldn't have recommended this album if other tracks were like this.
Lo Imprescindible - Thunderous opening and breaks signify the last "non-bonus" track. Sounds a bit like Cher on this one.
La Pared - acoustic piano version. very sensual.
La Tortura (Shaketon remix) - still got the infectious Latin hip-hop vibe with a bit of techno spiced within.
