Background

Born Gwendolyn Renee Stefani, 10-9-69 in Fullerton, CA. Lead singer of No Doubt, formed in 1987. This group's ska/ new wave spit met with little praise with their own label Interscope Records let alone with music listeners, especially during the era of grunge - they were signed in 1992.

Nonetheless, when grunge began to fither away Stefani and the boys became a welcome change-of-pace in that once groundbreaking genre's aftermath. As a result the group became fixtures at alternative, then Top 40 radio in 1996 with hits such as "Just A Girl", "Spiderweb", and especially "Don't Speak", one the biggest hits of the 90's from one of that decade's biggest albums, Tragic Kingdom.

Offstage, Stefani was dating Bush's Gavin Rossdale for years. The couple eventually tied the knot in September 2002.

Released Love, Angel, Music, Baby in 2004 which featured a range of styles outside that typical of No Doubt. That critically aclaimed album was nothing short of stapling Stefani's versatility in the music industry and pop culture in general for a wide range of audience, young and old.
Recently Gwen's single "What You Waiting For?" won Best art direction in a video: for Gwen Stefani's "What You Waiting For?" -claimed by the videos's director, Zach Matthewes.
