Rap Music Legal Downloads

Welcome to our rap music legal downloads page.

Rather than give you a list of all the legal downloads rap music has to offer - trust us, there are 10,000's - we will suggest an easy method for you on how to find these downloads on your own.

So here goes...

The first step that you need to do is find if there are any free legal downloads. How do you do this? Well, that subject has a page of its own. Read how you may access free rap music legal downloads here. This will open a new window.

You won't find any popular songs on there, however. You will find some popular artists with less well-known rap music legal downloads, but mostly unknown artists and songs will be found there.

The best of the bunch of rap legal music downloads requires money. However, if you follow the following routine, you could be spending pennies on the dollar versus buying the CD at the store.

If you want to download a few songs - i.e., less than 10 per month, you should first start with Rhapsody. You can join for free and after 14 days you can downgrade to Rhapsody 25, where you can listen to 25 or less songs per month free. After the 25th song for the month, it will only let you listen to free samples until the beginning of the next month, when you can listen to 25 different songs again for free.

If you would rather pay a small amount, first check wal-mart. All individual downloads are $0.88 each, and there are tons of rap legal music downloads.

What about iTunes? If you cannot find the song you're looking for and you still want to download a few songs per month, then use iTunes.

Other reasons for using iTunes:

- you want to transfer your song to iPod

- you use a Mac computer

NOTE: Only iTunes songs are compatible with iPod. If you want your wal-mart downloads to be played on an iPod, you need to burn them (copy on to CD), and then import them to the free iTunes jukebox. For more details read the full iTunes review.

So in some cases, iTunes is it.

For other cases? Well, this depends if you want to download a few rap music legal downloads per month (good reason to use Rhapsody for free or iTunes if you want to pay) or many.

If you plan to download many songs - i.e., more than 10 per month - with few or no burns, then it would be best to look into Napster, who is legit now, or Rhapsody which, in addition to its free version, also has an unlimited version - you sign up for its 14-day trial upon joining. You can download an unlimited number of songs from between $9.95 to $14.99 per month. Apple's iPod rules also apply to these two networks (and all other legal networks except iTunes). Try each free trial to see which one is the best for you for rap music legal downloads.

The above four are a sample of the best sources for 99 cent rap legal music downloads (or less).

What if you cannot find them on the totally legal sites?

This is where you may need to try the peer-to-peer sites, or obtain a hard-copy version of the song - i.e., by the CD online or go to your favorite record store.

If you are sure you will be able to buy the song at your record store, like on a CD, then DO NOT download it from the p2p site. That is unless you obtain permission from the songwriter(s) or label to do so. If you do so, you could be in trouble.

You may find a thorough discussion regarding peer-to-peer programs here.

Otherwise, you may be ok to download the song from p2p networks. The ones where you have to pay a one-time fee will have pretty much any rap song. But watch out for the scams. To date that there only four p2p networks worth considering. All are inferior to the legal networks above, but you can use them if you wish in the suggested manner above. You will find a link to those three here.

OK back to the legal networks. The following four are among the most authentic totally legal networks considered to be the golden standard digital music services for rap music legal downloads:

Rhapsody

Napster

iTunes

wal-mart.com

You will find a detailed review on each site.
